Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Portiq mobile app and website. By using Portiq you agree to them. If you are using Portiq on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

Portiq accounts are created by a property manager, who invites you by email. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

You may delete your account at any time from inside the app. Your property manager may also remove your access to a building — for example when a tenancy ends.

You agree not to:

• Grant building access to anyone you are not entitled to admit.
• Share guest codes or access links beyond the visitor they were created for.
• Attempt to open gates, read access logs, or reach units you have not been granted access to.
• Interfere with the service — probing, scraping, reverse-engineering, or overloading it — or use it to break the law or harass anyone.

We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms or that threatens the security of a building.

Portiq is a convenience layer, not a life-safety system. It depends on your phone, your network, your building’s hardware, and third-party push and video services, any of which can fail or be unavailable. Do not rely on Portiq as the only way into or out of a building, and do not use it as a substitute for a fire-safety, emergency-egress, or alarm system. Always keep a physical means of access.

We aim to keep Portiq available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts access.

You keep ownership of the information you put into Portiq. You grant us the licence needed to host and process it in order to run the service. We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Portiq is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, and our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Portiq after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and the courts of Romania have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
